Bregtje van der Haak

Biographie

Bregtje van der Haak was born in Utrecht, The Netherlands in 1966. She studied dance in Paris, politics and law at the University of Amsterdam, and journalism at Columbia University in New York. Van der Haak is a documentary filmmaker, journalist, and author. Since 1990 she has written regularly on art, culture, and media. Her documentaries, which she produces primarily for television and which are shown worldwide at film festivals and in exhibitions, deal primarily with transformations within society, and with urban life and globalization. Bregtje van der Haak was represented at the 27th Sao Paulo Biennial (2006). She lives and works in Amsterdam.
